Alumni Association records
The Alumni Association records are comprised of correspondence, photographs and ephemera dating from the early 1900s to the 1940s. The records consist primarily of handwritten and typed correspondence from former Southwest Texas students during the 1940s, including those serving in the U.S. military during World War II. It also includes one scrapbook from 1972.
Budget and financial reports
This collection ties together the many different types of budget and financial reports Texas State University produces. Materials include recommended budgets, operating budgets, salary reports, financial reports mandated by the State of Texas.

Faculty and staff service awards
Initiated in May 1979, the university holds this ceremony toward the end of the spring semester to recognize faculty and staff for longevity of service and for retirment. Employees are recognized beginning with 10 years of service to the university, and again every 5 years thereafter. Records in this group may include programs, invitations, memos, press releases, photographs, and remarks. Years not available: 1994, 2007, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020. Arranged chronologically.
Faculty Senate records
Helen Hornsby collection
Helen Hornsby was one of the first 17 faculty at Southwest Texas State Normal School, teaching from 1903 to 1919. Collection includes materials owned and collected by Helen Hornsby Crawford and her family. Includes topics related to the university, such as Lyndon Johnson, the inauguration of Robert Hardesty, homecoming, and the 50th reunion of the SWT class of 1949.
Higher Education Act Signing Anniversary collection
Collection with materials related to multiple anniversaries of the signing of the Higher Education Act, which was signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson at Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University).
Historical photograph collection
Historical print photographs covering many university related subjects, including campus buildings, student and staff portraits, student groups, and sports teams.
Institutional Name Change Records
This collection documents the work done by University administration following the 2003 legislation that changed the name from Southwest Texas State University to Texas State University-San Marcos.
Jerome H. Supple personal papers and memorabilia
Dr. Jerome Supple was Southwest Texas State University’s (now Texas State University) eighth president from 1989-2002. Collection largely consists of awards and artifacts, with a small amount of personal papers, photographs, and collected clippings.
LBJ 100 Celebration Records
Collection consists of planning materials for the events and the oral history project commemorating Lyndon Baines Johnson's 100th birthday (often referred to as LBJ 100). Most of the materials were created by members of the LBJ Centennial Celebration Steering Committee and overlapped with the Common Experience at Texas State University.
Lyndon Baines Johnson distinguished lecture series collection
The Lyndon Baines Johnson Distinguished Lecture Series honors the Texas State University's most distinguished alumnus by fulfilling his promise to bring important leaders to the university to share their philosophies and experiences. Records of individual lectures may include transcripts, videorecordings, press releases, invitations, programs, and photographs.
News Service collection on Jerome H. Supple
The collection was primarily created and compiled by the University News and Information Service and the Office of Media Relations and Publications. Materials include planning materials for the presidential selection and Supple’s installation, media coverage of events, Supple’s cancer diagnosis and research, and items related to his legacy including photographs.
News Service regular subject morgue inventory
Materials consist of collected background information files on events, conferences, clippings, topics, and current events associated with the university to reference when writing press releases as well as the press releases themselves. Also contains small amount of photographs and digitial media. These files were compiled first by the University News Service, and later added to after their transfer to the University Archives. Inventory organized by box number.
Office of Institutional Research fact books and compiled statistics
Collection of periodicals consists of reports published by the Office of Institutional Research and later Enrollment Management. They provide statistical data about the university, including enrollment by college, gender, and ethnicity. Some years also include data about faculty, staff, finance, and facilities.
Office of Institutional Research records inventory
This unprocessed collection consists of research, statistics and reports related to SACS review and accreditation process.
Office of the Vice President of Finance and Management Records
Twelve binders worth of materials created and collected during Eugene “Gene” Payne’s time as Vice President of Finance and Management. Materials largely consists of special studies done by the office analyzing and comparing budgets, funds, and expenditures on various subjects, as well as reports on accomplishments of the Finance and Management division.
Pedagog staff and Press Club photographic negative collection
Black and white photographic negatives used in the student yearbook, the Pedagog, and other university publications in the 1960s at Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University). Subjects of the images include scenes of campus, faculty and staff portraits, sporting events, and student events including beauty pageants.

Planning records including sound and video recordings, programs, proceedings, and newspaper clippings related to presidential inauguration/investiture ceremonies at Texas State University.
